Choose a PDF editor when preparation dominates

Choose a combined workflow when handoffs dominate

The risk is breadth without maturity. Decision criteria that matter
- Can the source file be finalized before routing, or do edits continue during the workflow?

If the signing vendor, PDF editor, or integration becomes unavailable, the organization should still be able to locate the governing agreement, prove which version was completed, and understand the event record without reconstructing it from screenshots or email.

Choose the tool that owns the hardest part of your lifecycle. Deep preparation favors a PDF editor; complex agreement routing favors a mature e-signature platform; recurring version and status handoffs can justify a combined workspace. Document the evidence and exit path before convenience turns into lock-in.
