Separate three different policy events so you can ask the right refund question and preserve evidence before an unused order or kit reaches a cutoff.
An unused order, an expired order, and a rejected sample are different situations. A refund policy for one may not answer what happens in another. Compare the event that triggers the rule before comparing the refund amount.
Read the policy for the purchase route
Labcorp OnDemand's policy distinguishes in-person collection from home kits. Quest also publishes separate cancellation rules for in-person testing and different kit types. At-home tests that produce a result directly can have different terms from kits sent to a laboratory.
Both providers' published policies include nonrefundable deductions in specified situations. Do not assume that a full advertised price is recoverable merely because no report has been issued. Check the current deadline, deduction, eligibility condition, and method for requesting cancellation.

Keep appointment cancellation separate
Canceling a collection appointment may not cancel the purchase. Likewise, canceling an order may not remove a scheduled appointment. Follow each relevant process and retain its confirmation.
Record the order number, purchase date, kit activation or collection date where applicable, and the request you made. These details help support identify the governing terms without requiring a long account of private medical concerns.
Treat unresolved wording as a purchase condition
If the policy does not answer a likely scenario, request clarification before paying. Keep the response and the version of the policy you relied on. Avoid assuming that a seller's general returns page overrides a test-specific exception.
